What makes the EJC special?
The European Juggling Convention is a meeting of jugglers and performers from different countries to share techniques, tricks, knowledge and aesthetic interpretations of their art, to experience shows as both performer and audience and to introduce communities to the skill, excitement and frustration that is juggling and circus. Participation is key at the EJC, and attendees are encouraged to both attend and give workshops. As the EJC is run by jugglers for jugglers on a voluntary basis, everyone can have their say, and influence the running of the festival.
The EJC is a spring board for new shows which will be performed for a European audience, with performances every night and street shows each day in addition to workshops led by some of the best-known names in circus in the world. The programme is never set in stone, always leaving room for new talent onstage and spontaneous collaborations and creativity. Jugglers, artists, performers, amateurs and professionals of all levels have the opportunity to gather each year in a non-competitive environment, develop their ideas and share them with local communities.
