History

The first European Juggling Convention was held in 1978 in Brighton, England, where a small number of jugglers got together to share ideas. Set up in 1992 the European Juggling Association formalized the support for each country that had undertaken to run the EJC, by passing on the important lessons learnt in earlier festivals the Convention has grown from strength to strength. Last year in 3,400 people from 41 different countries travelled to Ptuj, Slovenia to take part.

In Carvin, France, in August 2004, a small group of Irish jugglers bid to bring the European Juggling Convention to Ireland for the first time in 2006. A vote was taken, and they were successful. This group of jugglers now make up the core team of JC Events Ltd.
