Mr John O'Donoghue, TD, Minister for Arts, Sports and Tourism
We are delighted to have the support of Minister John O'Donoghue, patron of EJC 2006 who feels that that "the convention represents a welcome opportunity for people in Ireland to gain an insight into, and appreciation of an art that has become increasingly popular throughout the world". |
Cork County Council
Cork County Council Arts Office are funding juggling workshops for young people in County Cork, in Millstreet Community School and the local youth club in the months running up to the EJC itself. We hope that this will encourage local communities to participate in EJC 2006, and to establish a tradition of juggling in the area which will continue in future years. The workshops will be taught by members of Cork Community Circus, who have been trying to start a programme like this one for some time now. Cork County Council will also be providing a grant of €2,000 towards the EJC itself, again with a view to increasing participation by the people of Millstreet. We owe many thanks to Ian McDonagh, Arts Officer of Cork County Council and to Cllr Michael Creed, Mayor of County Cork whose energy and commitment made all of this possible. |
The European Juggling Association
The European Juggling Convention would not exist without the support, advice and financial aid of the European Juggling Association (EJA). Among many other services, the EJA provides a start up loan to EJC organisers to get them on their feet. For more information about the EJA, see www.eja.net. |
